The automobile insurance industry is regulated by three different regulators in New Brunswick:

Federal

• The Office of Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI)

Provincial

• The Superintendent’s Office
• The New Brunswick Insurance Board

The Facility Association is the insurer of last resort for those deemed to be too high a risk to be insured under the regular insurance pool.

The association is funded through insurance companies operating in New Brunswick and is used by high-risk drivers and those who have been convicted of negligent or criminal behavior.
